Lindsay set to return

March 2008

Belfast’s IBF youth featherweight champion, Martin Lindsay, will return from a spell on the sidelines with a defence of his title against Alberto Garza in Ontario, Canada.

Having been out of the ring due to dental surgery, former Immaculata star Lindsay has been training at his former club in the run up to the bout, but will soon depart for Canada to complete his preparations.

The contest will take place on the undercard of Steve Molitor’s IBF super-bantam scrap with Fernando Beltran.

Should he emerge victorious, Lindsay is then expected to shift his attention closer to home with a clash against the winner of Paul Appleby’s British title bout with John Simpson believed to he his primary target.
