Limerick top flight side sign keeper with over 400 League of Ireland appearances

Limerick top flight side Fairview Rangers have added serious quality and experience to their line up ahead of the new season.

The side which finished seventh in one of the most competitive junior leagues in the country have brought in former Limerick FC net minder Barry Ryan.

Ryan had been playing junior football in Clare last season and manning the posts at Avenue United, but will now play for the storied club that is Fairview.

The 39 year old may not be at his peak, but was playing LOI as recent as three seasons ago and brings bags of quality and experience to the table.

The keeper made his League of Ireland debut for UCD away to Sligo Rovers on 15 February 1997 and has played for UCD, Shamrock Rovers, St Patricks Athleitc, Dublin City and Limerick.

During his time with Rovers,which ended controversially, he made 4 European appearances keeping one clean sheet playing in the UEFA Intertoto-Cup and made a total of 28 appearances.
