Lewis Crocker secures new fight tonight following Belfast cancellation

Lewis Crocker [2(2)-0] was due to fight in Belfast this evening, but fell victim to Andres Gutierrez’s freak injury last night.

The Croc was due to box Poland’s Sylwester Walczak [5(0)-31(12)-2] in a four rounder at the SSE Odyssey Arena.

However the card was called off after Gutierrez, who was due to box Carl Frampton in the headline fight, slipped and fell in the shower and suffered severe dental damage and lacerations on his face.

Thankfully though for the young welterweight, his camp will not go to waste and he will still get the opportunity to move to 3-0 tonight.

The MTK-managed Belfast boxer has been added to an MTK Birmingham card at the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre in Solihull tonight and flew over to the West Midlands this afternoon.

MTK light heavyweight was also due to box in Belfast tonight and efforts were made to add him to the Birmingham card but these would unfortunately prove fruitless.
