Lee confirms Saunders will be next at a new date
Andy Lee has confirmed Billy Joe Saunders will still be his next opponent.
After the fight was postponed for a second time and it was today revealed that the clash wouldn’t play out on the October 10 World War III card there was questions raised as to whether the WBO middleweight World champ would take a fight in between.
Indeed Gary Spike O’Sullivan offered to step in and take Saunder’s, who is out due to a cut, place.
However, Lee has confirmed he will now take a holiday and the mandatory challenger remains next on the agenda.
Speaking on Twitter the Limerick man said.
Hugely disappointed for myself and for the boxing public. These things happen. Me and @bjsaunders_ will get it on when the new date is set.
