We were meant to be informed officially of the new Andy Lee Billy Joe Saunders date at a press conference today (Monday), but true to the nature of the build up to the much anticipated middleweight World title fight, the revelation has been delayed.

After two cancellations, fight fans are eager to find out when Irish hero Lee will eventually put his title on the line against the English challenger and in the absence of official confirmation speculation re a new date and venue have been rife.

Some sources and indeed the rumour mill have suggested December 19 is the rescheduled date and Manchester will remain the venue for the world title clash.

There is talk Frank Warren is open to the idea of putting the Limerick man’s title defence on the same card as a Terry Flanagan versus Derry Matthews lightweight title clash providing both come through their October 10 clashes.
