Latino step up for Sean McComb

It’s not the BBBoC Celtic title fight first mooted for Sean McComb [8(4)-0], but it is another step up nonetheless.

‘The Public Nuisance’ will continue his speedy climb up the levels when he takes on Emiliano Dominguez Rodriguez in Belfast on October 11.

The southpaw light welterweight was initially down to fight  reigning Welsh champion Kieran Gething [9(2)-1(0)-1] for the BBBofC Celtic title on a show topped by a high stakes clash between Jay Harris and three-time Irish Olympian Paddy Barnes.

The British Boxing Board of Control confirmed in their circular that they have approved a request with regard the match up and the title.

“The Stewards decided to approve a request from Promoter Lee Eaton for the above contest, which will take place on Saturday, 11th October 2019 in Belfast,” they revealed.

However, the title fight isn’t going ahead and the 26-year-old faces a different kind of test.

Having stepped up impressively, particularly in his last three fights, McComb will moves up the grade once again at Ulster Hall – live on ESPN+ and on iFL TV.

In Argentina’s Rodriguez [23(9)-4(0)], the home fighter will tackle an established former WBC Latino champion who took top French fighter Mohamed Mimoune to points last year.

Joining McComb vs. Rodriguez on the undercard will be Lewis Crocker, Gary Cully, Marco McCullough, Conrad Cummings, and debuting duo Ruairi Dalton and Pierce O’Leary.
