Late change of opponent- KO artist drafted in to face Quigley
When you hear a last minute opponent has been drafted to face a fighter you generally expect a massive drop in quality.
A last minute journey man with no hope of winning is usually ushered to the opposite corner.
That is not the case for Jason Quigley this weekend as Freddy Lopez comes in to replace Dante Moore for his Fantasy Spring Resort in California tomorrow night.
Moore represented a step up in class for the popular Golden Boy fighter, but Lopez record makes for similar reading, yet with one stark difference.
The 30 year old Mexican, Quigley’s tenth pro opponent, comes to the ring with a little more than a punchers chance. Seven of Lopez’s (9-3) wins have come by way of knock out and will pose a threat.
However, he isn’t on the same run of form as original opponent Moore and the fact he has been stopped three times will give Quigley hope of making it nine KO wins in 10 fights.
