KO win for Niall Kennedy in America
Niall Kennedy passed his Murphy’s Boxing test tonight with flying colours.
With a potential title shot and further fights with the Boston promoter on the line, the Wexford heavyweight scored an impressive second round stoppage in Plymouth, Massachuestes.
Boom Boom Baz took on skilled US journeyman Willie Palms – who outweighed him by over five stone – in a six round clash at the Guild Hall, but needed less than a third of this time to finish off the New Jersey veteran.
It was a third consecutive American knockout win for the 32 year old who is looking to jump straight into big fights
The win sees the Gorey big man improve his record to 5(3)-0, while Palms falls to 10(5)-11(5)-1.
Also on the undercard, Athlone welterweight Paddy Irwin had a first round stoppage victory over debutant Khaaliq Core to move to 2(2)-0.
