Derry’s Connor Coyle made a knockout debut last night in Florida.

The 2014 Commonwealth bronze medalist was fighting on the undercard of former World title challenger Orlando Cruz at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa and certainly caught the eye.

The Ulsterman has relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, for his assault on the pros, where he is trained by Jim McLoughlin [former trainer of Winky Wright].

Light middleweight Coyle needed less than a round to dispatch of debut opponent Euris Silverio, becoming the first ever man to stop the Dominican Republic boxer.

Coyle’s shiny new professional record starts off at 1(1)-0, while Silverio drops to 0-5(1).

Following the debut win, Coyle will now set his sights on his Irish debut date at the National Stadium on Saturday November 5th.
