If Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan wants to fight Anthony Ogogo he needs to get a win under his belt according to the London 2012 Olympic star’s promoters.

The Cork puncher told Irish-boxing.com of his desire to delay a move to light middleweight so he could fight ‘The Dancing Queen’ after Ogogo had name dropped him in an interview earlier this year.

The former Irish champion took things to another level with a number of interviews while he was in Leeds to support Patrick Hyland.

‘Spike’ drummed up interest further when he went in search of undefeated Sauerland promoted star when he visited a Subway in his tried and trusted mankini after he couldn’t get an online response from the English middle.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn was impressed enough to suggest he would love to see the fight, and while he stressed that Ogogo is not Matchroom fighter, he offered to put the fight on one of his card’s. Ogogo is indeed promoted by the Sauerland brothers and they don’t seem to eager to make the bout straight away.

The told the big puncher, whose last appearance was a defeat to Chris Eubank Jr in December, to get a win on his record if he wants the clash. They also couldn’t resist having a dig at the Celtic Warrior Gym puncher for the manner of his Eubank Jr defeat.

Kalle and Nisse tweeted to Spike saying “you need to get a w on ur record. You kiss and then quit last fight. Respect nevertheless.”

Considering Ogogo’s recent level of opposition, this demand seems somewhat unnecessary.
