Kilbarrack confirm eight new signings ahead of debut intermediate campaign
New Kilbarrack United Manager Chris McDonnell has brought in eight new faces to his LSL Senior 1B side ahead of the season opener against St James Gate on Friday night.
All of the new signings have featured during the per-season campaign, with all now having put pen to paper ahead of of new season.
After Dylan McNulty left the club during the summer McDonnell has replaced him with former Dundalk U19 net-minder Matt Lyons who signs from Raheny alongside Andy Shortall who has represented Kilbarrack in the past.
In defence McDonnell has added Shane Madigan and Sean Kelly – both tall footballing centre backs who also come in from Raheny Utd. Kelly has played with Kilbarrack in the past and has previous League of Ireland experience having lined out for Shamrock Rovers, St Pats Ath, Dundalk and Monaghan.
Joining them in the door at Greendale road is Sean Doyle -normally a striker, Doyle has slotted into the right back role impressively during pre-season.
In midfield the 2016 LSL Junior Player of the Year Brian Mooney joins the club after a trophy laden spell at Crumlin United. Joining him will be former AUL Oscar Traynor representative Anto McKay who has has previous LSL experience with Killester, Portmarnock and Malahide and Keith Murray who both sign up having played under McDonnell at Raheny last season.
