Keeping track of all the new Irish pro boxers

Last night Red Corner Promotions announced that Victor Rabei will turn pro on their upcoming show this Dublin.

They burgeoning outfit have high hopes for the Chisinau-Dublin light welter who is the latest boxer to turn pro in Ireland in what is an unprecedented period of activity.

By our count, Rabei is the twenty-fifth Irish or Irish-based boxer to move into the pros this year.

Below, to help both our readers and ourselves, we look at each and every one of the new pros and what is next for them.

Mick Conlan – Super Bantamweight
The Belfast fighter debuted in the spotlight last month and looks set to headline again in Boston on Friday May 12th. Top Rank have also stated that Chicago and May 19th may be an alternative. In addition to his date next month, it is near certain that Conlan will fight on the Manny Pacquiao v Jeff Horn undercard at at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on July 2nd.

Lewis Crocker – Welterweight
No second date has been announced for the Belfast bo whose debut lasted just 67 seconds. Will hopefully be added to one of the big upcoming BoxNation/BT shows on May 13th in Leeds or May 20th in London

Ray Moylette – Light Welterweight
The Mayo man raced to 2-0 last month. No date is currently lined up, however it would seem likely that Murphys Boxing will want him back for their May 20th show in Melrose following his impressive showing in Boston on St Patrick’s Weekend.

Sean McGlinchey – Super Middleweight
The Glenn McCrory-trained Derry boxer will debut on the inaugural Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast show – ‘A New Era’ – on Saturday April 22nd at The Devenish Complex.

Regan Buckley – Bantamweight
The Wicklow boxer, a Senior Elite runner-up, will debut on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday May 27th.

Sean Higginson – Super Featherweight
The John Breen-trained former top amateur will debut on the inaugural Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast show – ‘A New Era’ – on Saturday April 22nd at The Devenish Complex.

Pádraig McCrory – Super Middleweight
The former top amateur was snapped up by Kieran Farrell and looks set to debut on the young Manchester promoter’s Irish show in February, details of which will be announced soon.

Barry Barnes – Super Middleweight
‘The Viking,’ the 2014 Intermediate champion, was due to debut on the cancelled ‘Táimid Laochra’ bill earlier this month. Expected to feature on the rescheduled show should it ever be announced.

Keane McMahon – Welterweight
The Iceman, a former top underage fighter, will debut on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday May 27th.

Sean Magee – Super Featherweight
The John Breen-trained boxer of strong fighting stock will debut on the inaugural Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast show – ‘A New Era’ – on Saturday April 22nd at The Devenish Complex.

Thomas Finnegan – Super Middleweight
‘Victorious’ had a victorious debut in February on the Red Corner ‘Unfinished Business’ bill. The Jobstown fighter will look to build on this exciting win on Saturday June 24th at the National Stadium in Dublin on the Red Corner ‘For Honour & Pride’ bill.

Conor Cooke – Cruiserweight
The former MMA star is currently training at the Immanuel Boxing Academy, and promotional details for the Antrim fighter will be announced soon.

Dylan McDonagh – Super Bantamweight
The Dublin super bantamweight was due to debut on the cancelled ‘Táimid Laochra’ bill earlier this month. Expected to feature on the rescheduled show should it ever be announced.

Dylan Moran – Welterweight
The Waterford welter, a former top kickboxer, debuts on the rescheduled Kieran Farrell Promotions ‘Young Kings’ card at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester on Saturday May 27th.

Johnny Corcoran – Super Middleweight
No date is currently announced for the Tony Davitt-backed boxer who was due to debut on the cancelled Táimid Laochra bill. It would seem likely that he debuts on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday May 27th.

Tom Kearney – Super Middleweight
The Glenavy youngster has been signed by Kieran Farrell and looks set to debut on the young Manchester promoter’s Irish show in February, details of which will be announced soon.

Vladimir Belujsky – Middleweight
After being held to a draw on his debut in London, ‘The Slovak Rebel’ will be looking to claim his first win on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday May 27th.

Liam Gaynor – Lightweight
The Tallaght lightweight begins his pro journey on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday May 27th.

Adrian Farquhar – Light Welterweight
The Australian teenager, trained by Stephen Kavanagh, is adjusting well to life in Ireland, and further news on his pro career should be revealed soon.

John Joyce – Middleweight
The Lucan soldier will debut on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday May 27th.

Stephen McAfee – Welterweight
The Irish semi-pro champion has no date scheduled, but the Sallynoggin scrapper wants to make his pro bow this Summer.

Karl Kelly – Welterweight
The former top semi-pro fighter was the first boxer announced for Jay Byrne’s brand new pro stable. A debut date is expected soon.

Manny Bique – Super Middleweight
The Dublin-based Dominican has returned to the pros with Jay Byrne and we await a debut date.

James Cahill – Light Middleweight
The Wicklow teen has only recently begun training and sparring for his move to the pros and his debut may therefore not be for a few months.

Victor Rabei – Light Welterweight
‘The Chisinau Cyclone’ will make his pro bow on Saturday June 24th at the National Stadium in Dublin on the Red Corner ‘For Honour & Pride’ bill.
