Juan Manuel Marquez sends video message to Irish boxer ahead of fight

A top Irish fighter has been sent a message of encouragement ahead of his upcoming fight from boxing legend Juan Manuel Marquez [56(40)-7(0)-1].

Celtic welterweight champ Paddy Gallagher [11(7)-3(0)] was sent the video from the three-weight world champion Mexican who said “Paddy Gallagher, good luck in your fight from your friend Juan Manuel Marquez. Looking forward, always.”

Gallagher faces Swiss champion Ricardo Silva [14(5)-1(0)] over ten rounds on the Carl Frampton homecoming bill at the SSE Odyssey Arena next Saturday (July 29th).

43 year old Marquez has not fought in over three years but remains in training ahead of a potential return.
