Jono Carroll secures Prizefighter slot

JONO Carroll has been given the chance to continue his quick fire journey from boxing obscurity to prominence on December 6.

‘King Kong’ made a big impression with his display against Declan Geraghty on the Return Of The Mack fight night on Saturday, putting his name on Irish fight fans lips in the process.

The 3-0 fighter, who was a relative unknown before the clash with ‘Pretty Boy’, can take a massive short cut to notoriety when he competes the popular and career changing Prizefighter contest this early next month.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn, as promised gave a slot on the all action Sky Sports broadcast tournament to the winner of Carroll and Geraghty’s Dublin derby.

Carroll, whose first two career wins came in Oz, has the chance to win £32,000, an army of new fans as well take a massive career stride just weeks after he was a relative unknown.

The Finglas native, who has Navan ties, will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Martin Rogan, Wille ‘Big Bang’ Casey and Eamonn O’Kane by winning three fights in one night and lifting the Prizefighter trophy.
