John Joe Nevin to return to the ring on Saturday night ?
Rumours of a John Joe Nevin comeback are circulating and a Saturday October 11 return is been mentioned for the Olympic silver medal winner.
The Irish amateur great made his pro debut with a victory over six rounds in Boston in March, but suffered two broken legs after an assault in April.
Such were the injuries questions were raised as to whether the Mullingar man could box again, but rumours of his demise seemed greatly exaggerated.
Nevin has been back training for a number of months in both Ireland and Philadelphia and according to sources close to the camp the bantamweight will complete his rehabilitation in the ring this coming Saturday, although no bout is confirmed on Boxrec.
Nevin’s Green Blood stable mate Ray Ginley will make his own return from injury at the Ring of Dreams in North Carolina, this Saturday and looks set to be joined by Nevin and Tyrone McKenna.
