John Joe Nevin cruises to victory over awkward opponent
John Joe Nevin made it six wins from six at the weekend in Virginia. The Olympic silver medalist boxed clever to overcome DeWayne Wisdom in a four round bout at the ABC Sports Complex.
Against a rough and awkward American opponent, who had two points deducted for use of the head, Nevin used his considerable skills to box his way to a wide unanimous decision victory (40-34 x2, 40-33)
With the win, Nevin improves his unbeaten start to 6(4)-0 and wil return to the ring very soon.
The Mullingar Shuffler, now under the advisement of influential U.S manager Cameron Dunkin, fights again next Wednesday (November 25th) in Indiana against Greg Coverson Jnr [3(2)-13(3)-3] in Indiana at the Horseshow Casino.
