Joe Rea to take on former title challenger in Tasmania

Australian-based Ballymena bruiser Joe Rea [11(4)-30(13)-5] will return to the ring on Friday October 14th.

Síucra Rea will feature on the undercard of former World champion Daniel Geale’s return to the ring following his loss to Miguel Cotto. Geale faces Renold Quinlan in his comeback bout.

The show will take place at the Silverdome Basketball Stadium in Tasmanian and the Antrim middleweight will box Wade Ryan [9(1)-5(1)-1] in a six round contest. The Gunnedah fighter recently unsuccessfully challenged for the Australian title against Wes Capper.

Rea has had a mixed 2016, being used as an ‘opponent’ for home fighters, but has recently defeated Yong Zhang as well as running former World title challenger Tommy Browne close.
