Jason Quigley ready for ‘Jersey Boy’ step up

Golden Boy have given a big indicator of their intentions for Jason Quigley [12(10)-0].

The American promoter have chosen Quigley as the man to headline the first card of their massive new deal with ESPN.

The Donegal middleweight tops a bill on Thursday March 23rd at the Fantasy Springs Casino in California ahead of the likes of former world champion Randy Caballero and the debut of U.S. Olympian Marlen Esparza.

Not only will Quigley take a step up in platform, he will also go up yet another notch in terms of opposition.

The Ballybofey fighter had a breakthrough 2016 with impressive wins over James De La Rosa and Jorge Melendez, but will go to the next level on March 23rd against Glen Tapia [23(15)-3(3)].

‘Jersey Boy,’ formerly a hot prospect himself, has only been beaten thrice – by James Kirkland, Michel Soro, and David Lemieux

On paper the ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes-broadcast bout is a tough test for Quigley, but the Ulsterman is ready to put on a show and continue his meteoric rise up through the ranks.

‘El Animal’ predicted that “2017 is going to be a big year for me, and I can’t imagine a better way to kick it off than by headlining the first edition of Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN.”

“Glen Tapia has faced some of the best in the middleweight and super welterweight divisions, but I am excited to show a huge audience what I’m capable of in the ring.”
