There was no war tonight for Jamie Conlan as the Belfast fan-favourite had an easy win in Cardiff.

Fighting on the Boxnation undercard at the Ice Arena, ‘The Mexican’ took on Czech puncher Patrick Bartos and blew him away inside four minutes.

The Commonwealth super flyweight problem never looked troubled. Starting patiently, Conlan stalked his opponent throughout the first, with Bartos reluctant to engage.

The Central European couldn’t get away in the second however and was put down almost immediately when Conlan boxed him into a corner and overwhelmed him with a flurry of shots.

Bartos rose but looked reluctant to continue, the bout went on but ended in the next exchange after a huge right from the Belfast man.

The quick victory sees Conlan improve his flawless record to [17(11)-0], while the overmatched Bartos drops to [7(6)-10(5)].
