Jake Hanney ready to put frustrating period behind him and get in title mix

AUSTRALIAN based welterweight Jake Hanney is hoping to make up for lost time starting with victory in Sydney on August 29.

Hanney made an impressive start to pro life with two stoppage wins in late 2013, but has endured a frustrating start to 2014.

The 25 year old has seen no fewer than four fights fall through since the turn of the year, but has he sights set on a date and is determined to pick up where he left off.

Indeed, Hanney has his sights set on the Australia title and the Asian Pacific Continental strap before the end of the year.

“I am out in August and also pencilled in for September and November. I had a frustrating few months, four fights were cancelled with opponents pulling out and a injury problems,” said Hanney after contacting Irish-boxing.com.

“I’m looking to get right back into the mix and take off were I left off now. The next fight will be a six rounder and will qualify me for the NSW Tittle which is an eight rounder. We are looking to move fast an maybe get a shot at an Ozzy tittle or WBA PAPA tittle before the year is out.”
