Irish Squad for the World Championships

Team Ireland will have their final training camp before the 2015 AIBA World Elite Men’s Championships and Olympic qualifier in Doha, Qatar in Assisi, Italy later this month.

The squad leave for Italy next Wednesday and will train with the host nation and Belarus before leaving straight for Qatar on October 2nd.

Brendan Irvine, Michael Conlan, Sean McComb, Dean Walsh, Adam Nolan, Michael O’Reilly and Joe Ward will represent Ireland at the 2015 AIBA World Elite Championships.

The seven qualified for Doha from the European Elite Championships and inaugural European Games in Bulgaria and Azerbaijan this summer, winning three gold, one silver and two bronze medals into the bargain.

Olympic champion Katie Taylor, two-time Olympic bronze medallist Paddy Barnes, Ceire Smith and Darren O’Neill have been included on the Irish team for the Assisi training camp.
