Irish International Results – Gabriel Dossen beats Olympian

The Irish Junior Team are currently ripping it up in Anapa at the European Championships but there are also a number of other Irish fighters in international action this weekend.

Five Irish fighters have entered the Eindhoven Box Cup in Holland while a two-legged international versus Wales is currently ongoing in Wexford.

In Eindhoven Irish boxers posted four wins out of five in yesterday’s quarter finals.

Galway middleweight Gabriel Dossen scored a notable scalp of 2008 Olympian Herry Biembe and Commonwealth bronze medallist Alanna Nihell was another unanimous winner. Dossen will now face Ramtin Musah in today’s semi-finals, an English boxer who inflicted a rare loss on the European and World Youth bronze medallist earlier this year on a club show.

Dubliners Tony Browne and Michael Avetisian both also had unanimous wins as they settle into their new weights of heavyweight and light welter respectively. Browne will face Dutch star and multi major international medallist Peter Mullenberg in the semis.

Ryan O’Rourke, however, was edged out on a 4-1 split by a German opponent
