Irish fighter handed official post lockdown date
Dylan Moran [13(5)-1(1)]has become the first Irish fighter to be handed an official return date.
There has been plenty of talk of possible fights on possible cards at possible dates in recent weeks – and things look positive in terms of Irish opportunities– but nothing official or concrete had been confirmed.
That has changed after the Waterford welter was handed a date.
‘The Real Deal’ will return on August 8 and will trade leather this summer.
A venue has yet to be officially confirmed, but it’s likely the 25-year-old will return to Germany.
The Deise favourite, who signed for Pit Gliem post his first career defeat on his America debut, has returned to Lichtenstein, has started camp and is training for August 8.
Moran was set for a massive crossroads fight before lockdown.
After a tough 2019, the PGP Boxing promoted fighter picked up 3 wins in just under three months. He injected momentum into his career during that period and secured a shot at the IBF Inter-Continental Title.
He was scheduled to fight Deniz Ilbay [22(10)-2(0)], who has held many titles including IBF, WBO Youth and some non widely recognized world titles, in Germany on April 4.
Irish-boxing.com understands it has yet to be confirmed whether or not Ilbay awaits on August 8, but Moran will be out regardless.
