Irish Champion McDonagh registers impressive stoppage win
Former Prizefighter finalist JJ McDonagh registered an impressive knock out win over Michael Nieroda in Kings Cross on the 21 of this month.
The Irish Super middleweight champion didn’t quite live up to his ring moniker has he was more destructive than ‘Slick’ taking the pole apart in four rounds live on Eurosport.
From the outset, McDonagh (12st 8oz) looked too strong for his foe and by the end of the first stanza had Nieroda marked up. The Pole looked in considerable distress in the second and was finally taken out of his misery with 20 seconds of round four remaining.
A left uppercut was the first to send the Pole to the canvas, before a heavy assault ended with a right uppercut and reaquainted him with the floor. There was no recovery this time as refereeĀ Kieran McCann waved the fight off instantly.
