Irish boxers ready to compete in the Bundesliga

London 2012 Olympian Adam Nolan, George Bates and James Cleary departed for Germany this morning.

The Irish trio will compete in the German Bundesliga which begins in Bremen Saturday.

Nolan, a keen Liverpool fan, always wanted to compete in the Bundesliga (German leagues)!

“Yeah, I’ve heard from the boys in the Stadium that it’s a very tough tournament. Myself, George and James will have one fight each and we’ll be looking to make an impression, he said.

“This will be my first competitive fight since the Seniors and I’m looking forward to it.”

The squad are due to arrive home on March 15.

Dmitry Dmitruk will be working Ireland’s corner in Bremen.
