Ireland finish second in European Championships medal table

Ireland finished in second spot in the medals table at the 2015 European Elite Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Michael Conlan (gold), Joe Ward (gold) and Dean Walsh (bronze) finished in podium positions at the 41st edition of the tournament.

Conlan also scooped the Best Boxer Award.

Russia, Ireland and Team GB, in that order, commanded the top three positions in the medals table.

This is the second edition of the tournament in a row (and the third in the last four) where Ireland have finished second in the medal table.
