Ireland add Elite Senior champion to squad for European Under-22 Championships
A late change has been made to the ten-man Irish team that will fly to Romania for the European Under-22 Championships.
St George’s bantam James McGivern has withdrawn and will be replaced by Canal stylist Kurt Walker.
The Lisburn boxer is a high-quality addition to the squad, and just last month Walker claimed his third consecutive Elite Senior title.
Walker commented how the call-up was “short notice but I’m in great shape! Looking for nothing less than a gold medal.”
The tournament runs from March 13th to March 22nd in the city of Brăila.
