Hughie Fury to face former Tyson opponent
Hughie Fury will have a tough assignment on the undercard of his cousin’s world title challenge next month in Germany.
Fury [16(8)-0], who turns 21 on Friday, will face Nicolai Firtha [21(8)-11(5)-1] on October 24th in Duesseldorf’s ESPRIT arena.
Irish fans may remember the American, who faced Tyson Fury back in 2011 in Belfast, being stopped inside five rounds.
36 year old Firtha, from Ohio, last fought two years against current WBC heavyweight champ, Deontay Wilder, lasting four rounds.
The fight will be Fury’s third of the year, having earlier passed the tough tests of Andriy Rudenko and George Arias – as well as overcoming a spell of illness.
The heavyweight clash has joined Cecilia Braekhus’s defence of her undisputed welterweight crown, as support to the mega-fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury
