Heartwarming: Anto Upton brought to tears by son’s surprise visit

Boxing is one of the toughest sports in the World.

There’s the physical toll and danger, but also the commitment, the hours in the gym, the weight-making, the frustration of fights falling through.

One thing which isn’t often realised is the effect boxing can have on families, with boxers sometimes having to be separated from loved ones for weeks at a time while they train to earn a a better life for those around them.

One such fighter is Anto Upton. The London-born Belfast man fights for the English light welterweight title later this month in Wallsall against Luke Paddock.

The youngest of the three Upton brothers is currently locked away in the Hatton Gym in Manchester ahead of the July 24th, and today was paid a surprise visit by his son Kyle.

The reunion would melt the most cynical heart, and will provide the perfect boost to Upton ahead of the fight.
