Hearn wants two Frampton Vs Quigg fights
EDDIE Hearn wants to do Carl Frampton Vs Scott Quigg on the double.
The Matchroom boss will be eager to get a deal sorted in double quick time and has said he will start talks this week, but he is also keen for the pair to meet twice.
Quigg’s promoter not only wants a massive fight in Manchester in December and a return outdoors in Belfast in the Summer, he believes a rematch could prove the answer to the potential 50/50 split stumbling blocks.
Hearn has always expressed a desire to double the fight up, but Team Frampton want to over come Quigg and move on. Cyclone Promotions also stress as the bigger draw and the fighter with a legitimate belt, Frampton should get a bigger split of the takings in any agreed bout.
However, Hearn feels the rematch could prove more fruitful than any original bout. He explained in a video interview with Irish-boxing.com previously that a second clash could be a pay per view event and stressed while the first fight should be 50/50 with the winner of the Manchester clash getting a bigger purse in any return.
Speaking again this week he highlighted his desire for a two fight deal.
“I believe the answer is two fights,” he said.
“Let them earn the money twice. We’ll do it over here, in the winter or spring and then outdoors in Belfast in the Summer.
“Let them make a fortune twice its such a good fight I don’t think any would mind seeing it twice,” he added before stressing in will be involved in Framptons next bout either way.
“We’ve signed a co promotional deal with Chris Avalos who it the mandatory challenger for Carl’s belt. So if Carl doesn’t fight Scott Quigg through doing a deal with us for Avolas to move away then he has to fight Chris Avalos. For Scott Quigg all roads lead to Carl Frampton. We can’t let this fight slip away.”
