Hearn: If Hyland gets past Simpson he will be in line to challenge Warrington for European title
CONSIDERING he fights in his home town for the first time in four years against a former British champion live on Sky Sports motivation shouldn’t be a problem for Patrick Hyland come November 15.
However, Eddie Hearn, who promotes The Return of the Mack fight card which former WBA Interim world title challenger, Hyland trades leather with John Simpson on, has given the Tallaght featherweight further incentive before the clash.
The Matchroom boss revealed the winner of the exciting Irish English bout will be in pole position to challenge European champion and former Martin Lindsay defeater Josh Warrington.
Hearn expressed a willingness to to make a fight between the November 15 ‘war’ and the Leeds ticket seller early next year.
“I have to say Patrick versus John Simpson is an absolute war. It is a wonderful fight. You have to give credit to both guys for taking the fight. It is a fight I really can’t wait for on November 15,” said Hearn.
“One of the carrots I dangled to John Simpson and Patrick is a chance to face Lee Selby and Josh Warrington. The winner of that fight will be in line to fight Warrington in January or February of next year. That is a great fight with great fighters.”
Hyland also expressed a desire to get in with Hearn’s ‘Goldenboys’ if he gets past Simpson, who took the British title of Martin Lindsay back in 2010.
