Hearn confirms Macklin will fight in ‘The Point’ on November 15

EDDIE Hearn has confirmed he is bringing big time boxing and the Sky Sports cameras to Dublin in November.

The Matchroom boss has rescheduled the cancelled Return of the Mack card, which was initially due to take place in the National Stadium in August.

And having been impressed with the reaction to the initial show Hearn has upgraded from the National Stadium to the venue Irish fight fans call ‘The Point’.

Matthew Macklin will top the card in a world title eliminator with Sebastian Heiland and if he emerges victorious will target a domestic dust up with Andy Lee or a fourth World title tilt.

Another middleweight grudge match has been confirmed for the November card, Anthony Fitzgerald and Gary O’Sullvian have agreed to trade leather.  Luke Keeler is also said to be out on November 15 and Ian Tims versus Michael Sweeney is being touted as another possible clash.

“Macklin will fight Heiland on November 15 in Dublin and then we will look for the Lee fight or a World title shot. Matthew was back in action at the weekend, he looked quite rugged, he hadn’t boxed for 10 months so he has that out of his system and he is ready to fight Hieland. It is a really tough fight fight,” Hearn told IFL TV.

Speaking about the Lee dust up Hearn said,

“I want to make Macklin Lee, but it won’t be this year. Lee is in a strange position because with everything happening with the Billy Joe Saunders he might end up having fighting him in an eliminator for the that title.”
