FEARGAL McCrory is the latest fighter to join the growing Irish professional boxing family, but the first to start out his career under the guidance of former two weight world champion Ricky Hatton.
Former youth amateur stand out, McCrory proved a hit with ’The Hitman’ and after signing pro forms makes his debut against journey man Sid Razak in Bolton tomorrow night.
The John Breen trained 19 year old believes a blend of his talent and Hatton‘s connections will help him work his way to the top .
McCrory won 4 Irish titles, European bronze, Four Nations gold and Multi Nations gold in a 67 – 5 youth amateur innings and he has his sights sets on adding pro titles to his already well decorated mantle piece.
“I make my debut on the 4th of February in Bolton,” McCrory told www.irish-boxing.com “The short term plan is to take in as much as I can from John Breen and keep improving. Long term I want to be world champion, if you don’t want that it is a waste of time making the switch really! However, 2012 is just about learning the trade, I’m only 19 so there’s no rush.”
“Ricky has done a great job in getting his fighters the big fights with all the big names so I’m delighted to be working with him and his team at Hatton Promotions.”
