Harrington and Taylor in last 16 World championship action today

Kelly Harrington and Katie Taylor will be in action in the last 16 of the World Women’s Elite Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan today.

Harrington will be between the ropes at approximately 10.15am tomorrow morning (Irish time) and Taylor at 3pm tomorrow afternoon (Irish time).

Taylor is competing in one of the three Olympic weights for women. The Olympic lightweight champion will advance to within one victory of qualifying for Rio 2016 is she beats Argentina’s Dayana Sanchez on Monday.

Earlier today, Grainne Walsh recorded an impressive victory over Poland’s Hanna Solecka to set up Tuesday’s quarter-final meeting with Kazakh welter Valentina Khalzova.
