Geraghty gets up of the floor to win at Villa Park-win for MaGuire and Hutchinson loses
DECLAN Geraghty showed composure and boxing maturity to get up of the canvas and claim a points win in Villa Park on Saturay night.
The 24 MGM fighter was unfortunate to be given a count after effectively slipping to the floor in the first 20 seconds of his fight with Simas Volosinas, but the 24 year old Dubliner responded positively and put it a dominant 2:40 to ensure he lost the round 10-9 instead of 10-8.
‘PrettyBoyy’ stepped it up further in the second and hurt his fifth pro foe, but ultimately registered a comfortable 39-37 points win.
MGM stable mate David MaGuire also registered victory on the card and pushed his record to 2-0 with points victory over Igoris Borucha.
John Hutchinson added further Irish interest to the card abut suffered a second successive defeat losing to Danny Shannon on points.
