Geraghty added to Villa Park bill- Fitzgerald secures opponent
HARRY Matthews will provide the opposition for Anthony Fitzgerald as he continues his MGM transformation.
The Dubliner is enjoying life in Marbella under the stewardship of Seamus Macklin and has claimed the latest chapter of his career will tell title fight tales.
Having put behind him defeats to Eamonn O’Kane and Hassan N’Dam and returning to winning ways in Belfast last week, ‘The Pride’ follows Roy Keane to Villa Park to take on another tough journey man.
Fitzgerald rid himself of some rust with a tough six rounds against Dan Blackwell, a fighter who has never been stopped, in the Holiday Inn and now trades leather with ‘The Pocklington Rocket’ a fighter, who has only one stoppage reverse on his recor.
Matthews also boasts 12 wins from his 31 fights.
Meanwhile fellow Dub and MGM puncher Declan Geraghty has been added to the card. The former Senior champion was due to punch for pay in Madrid last week, but two scheduled opponents left the undefeated prospect idle and he will look to continue his progress on July 12.
