Gary O’Sullivan shipping out to Boston
GARY O’Sullivan is shipping out to Boston.
The former middleweight champion of Ireland, whose most recent ring appearance was a points reverse to Billy Joe Saunders, has grown frustrated with the lack of competition on this side of the Atlantic and has elected to head Stateside.
‘Spike’ has agreed a two fight deal with Murphy’s Boxing USA, the a promotion company run by Ken Casey of the Drop Kick Murphys that promoted the show on which John Joe Nevin’s made his debut on St Patricks Day.
The Cork puncher will fight twice in Boston over the summer on cards just one month a part.
“After 6 months of potential opponents in Ireland and the UK refusing to fight me, I am pleased to report that my manager Paschal’s (Collins’) agent in Boston has confirmed that Murphy Boxing USA will be putting on my next two fights in Boston in May and June,” said Spike.
“It’s been incredibly frustrating trying to get back into the ring again, and I just can’t wait to get back to work.”
