FULL FIGHT: Sonny Upton v Matty Ryan – Robbery?

Sonny Upton [12(5)-3(1)] was denied in Manchester on Friday night, being edged out in his short-notice English light middleweight title challenge.

Upton took on home favourite Matty Ryan [13(2)-1(0)] at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, and fell to a majority decision (93:97, 95:96, 96:96) defeat.

A real clash of styles, Ryan came forward for the entirety of the bout, while Upton looked to counter-punch.

Upton and his team took issue with the decision, feeling that he was the better boxer on the night and that Ryan was awarded for ineffective aggression.
