Frampton will be gone in six says Avalos father and coach
IT will take less than 18 minutes for Chris Avalos to dethrone IBF World champion Carl Frampton in the Odyssey Arena on Saturday night, claims ‘The Hitman’s’ coach and father.
Like Avalos’ mother, who has been vocal in support of her son during fight week, Felipe Avalos is backing the Californian to beat the Belfast man.
Indeed Felipe believes his son will get the job done before the sixth round has played out.
“I think it’s going to be a good fight but my son is going to win in no more than 6 rounds,” he said this week.
Chris Avalos, although a little less vocal this week, was equally confident when he did speak.
“I’ve got bad news. I’m going to win,” Avalos said at the pre-fight press conference. “I’m going to take the belt home.
“I haven’t come all this way to lose. That would be stupid. It makes no sense.”
Avalos manager Mike Crisso made it a hat trick of away predictions. The American, who told Irish-boxing.com he had a £10,000 bet on the outsider, can’t foresee anything but a ‘Hitman’ win.
“Carl’s going to have a short stay as champion,” Crisso said. “It is a tough fight, but Carl has never fought anyone in the class of Chris. We will be going home with the IBF title.”
