Frampton target Cruz retains his title in Las Vegas
Leo Santa Cruz kept up his end of the bargain and retained his WBC world title in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The two weight World champion defeated Cristian Mijares by a unanimous decision on the Canelo Alvarez-Alfredo Angulo card.
Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15 knockouts), who talked up a bout with Frampton post fight was typically aggressive from the opening bell  out scored his rival 119-109, 120-108 and 120-108.
If Frampton can see off Hugo Cazares at the Odyssey Arena on April 4 then a meeting between the two Super-bantamweights is on the cards.
“It doesn’t matter to me where I fight him. It’s up to wherever my manager and promoter think the best place is. I’ll fight him wherever,” Santa Cruz said.
“If they want me to fight him in Ireland, I’ll come over and fight him in Ireland. If they want me to fight him here [United States], I’ll fight him here. Wherever they make the fight I’m willing to battle him.
