Frampton: Quigg looks weight-drained

Following today’s atmospheric weigh-in, Carl Frampton has claimed that Scott Quigg is looking weight drained.

The pair both weighed-in under the 122lb super bantamweight limit at the Manchester Arena in front of a vocal support of around 5,000, with a large Team Jackal contingent making themselves heard.

Indeed if the atmosphere tomorrow night can match today on a larger scale, we are in for what could be a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Frampton tipped the scales at 121.7lbs, while Quigg came in at 121.5lbs.

Speaking to media afterwards, Frampton commented how he “made the weight” easy, and only had to undergo three sweat sessions during fight week – a relatively low figure.

However, ‘The Jackal’ noted a big difference in his opponent since yesterday’s press conference and felt that the Bury boxer looked “drawn”

Whilst, in boxing terms, Quigg did weigh in a fair bit under the limit today, it could be a tactic to help the Englishman meet the IBF’s 132lbs re-hydration limit tomorrow morning.

As a comparison, here is Quigg at today’s weigh-in as opposed to yesterday’s press conference.
