Frampton: ‘Quigg fight is closer than ever to being made – I just hope Scott sees sense’
Carl Frampton has echoed Eddie Hearn’s comments that the long awaited Frampton-Quigg super-fight is closer than ever to being made.
Speaking to IFL TV from his training camp in Shane McGuigan’s Battersea gym, ‘The Jackal’ explained that “talks have started again,” and despite there being “still a few obstacles to overcome,” that “the fight is closer than it’s ever been.”
The Belfast man continued, noting that “I don’t want to say too much, we’re kinda the opposite of what Eddie does – we don’t want to broadcast everything in public, negotiations and deals should be done in private.”
Commenting on the next step that has to occur for the fight to be made, Frampton reasoned that “there are a few things to be just ironed out at this stage – the correct venue is one of them, and I think that can be sorted pretty easily.”
The 28 year old revealed that “we’re all confident, Eddie seems confident, we’re confident, I haven’t heard from Quigg at the moment but I hope that he sees sense and we get this fight on.”
“It’s a huge fight.”
