Frampton dismisses Cruz support before Avalos fight
CARL Frampton says Leo Santa Cruz backing ahead of his IBF World title defence counts for nothing.
The WBC champion and potential future Frampton foe backed ‘The Jackal’ to have too much for Chris Avolas, a fighter he has shared the sparring ring with, in the Odyssey Arena on February 28.
However, Frampton knows his actions are what counts and no amount of words can make a difference.
The reigning IBF champion of the World points out it is what he does in the ring that counts and suggests if he produces his best he will have too much for the American.
“It was nice of him to say those things but it is me against Avalos on February 28 and it does not matter what anyone says, I have to deliver on the night.
“I know that if I perform to my best – I beat Avalos in every department. Preparation is going very well and not long now,” he added.
