Former World Champion Interested in fighting Gary Cully on Katie Taylor Card
Former IBF lightweight world champion Richard Commey is willing to come to Dublin and provide opposition to Gary Cully.
Kildare’s Cully has secured a slot on the massive Katie Taylor homecoming bill and wants to trade leather with a the kind of b name opponent to aid his transition to genuine world title contender at the 3Arena on May 20.
Three weight world champ Jorge Linares is top of the wish list and his team have said he would travel for the right price.
Another former titlist, Commey, is also willing to travel to Dublin to fight on the massive Matchroom promoted, DAZN broadcast card.
Team Commey let it be known online that they would be open to the fight.

Ghanaian Commey hasn’t quite got the name and thus allure of Linares but is a massive jump up.
The 36-year-old American based fighter won a world title as recent as 2019 only losing it to former undisputed world champion and Vasiliy Lomachenko defeater Teofimo Lopez. HIs most recent fight was an IBF light welterweight world title eliminator, which he lost to Jose Carlos Ramirez, in March.
Speaking to Irish-boxing.com recently Cully says he is open to all options but wants a fight that moves him closer to huge names like Devin Haney, Vasyl Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson.
“It’s about bridging the gap now between prospect-contender level to really being in the top 10 and being mentioned with the Lomachenkos, the Hanneys and the Stevensons,” he told Irish-boxing.com.
“I probably have a fight or two to bridge that gap. It’s about finding the right opponent.”
