Former UFC fighter next for Matthew Tinker

A former UFC competitor awaits Mattew Tinker [4(4)-0] as he returns to the ring as early as November 25.

The active light heavyweight returns on another Boston Boxing Promotions show for his fifth fight later this month.

The bout will take place at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire as part of the third-annual Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular.

The Wednesday night clash will be the former St Francis amateur’s third in a pandemic year, but represents his first real step up of any note.

Tinker, who turned over as recent as November of last year, has handled all four pro opponents with ease, stopping the first three within a round, before Jesus Javier Cintron took him into stanza two for the first time in his pro career on October 17.

November foe Leandro Silva [2(2)-3-(0)] certainly has the ability to take Tinker rounds.

The Brazilian has three defeats on his record but has never been stopped and comes into the fight on the back of a knockout win.

The 35-year-old also has 30 plus MMA fights to his name and spent three years on the UFC roster boasting a 3-3 and one no contest record.

Originally from Scarborough, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, Tinker has fought out of Limerick and represented St Francis in the amateurs.

Indeed, the Golden Gloves finalist fought Joe Ward in the National Elite finals.

“I’m happy that I’ve been able to stay sharp during this pandemic, and I’m looking forward to putting in some rounds and putting forth a good performance on Thanksgiving Eve,” said Tinker.
