Former Liverpool star celebrates latest Stevie McKenna KO win
Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique was among the people celebrating Stevie McKenna’s latest knockout win.
‘The Hitman’ made it 12 inside-the-distance wins from 13 fights with victory on a Boxxer card last Saturday night.
The 25-year-old stopped Brendon Denes after a typically aggressive performance on the YouTube portion of a Sky Sports broadcast card.
The win and the manner in which it came delighted Team McKenna fans, one of which is former professional footballer Enrique.
The former Liverpool and Newcastle defender took to Twitter to congratulate the welterweight prospect.
Congratulations my friend! Very happy for you and the family! YNWA♥️🔴 https://t.co/QBvbH16Nu0

The older of two boxing brothers, a Liverpool fan, got to know Enrique during trips to Anfield and the footballer has obviously taken an interest and now follows McKenna’s fight career.
Speaking after the win the Smithborough native said: “You have to entertain in this game. I wanted to go in there and get the knockout, which I did. He was highly ranked and it was a good step-up fight for me at this stage of my career.
“Nobody wants to fight me. I have called out numerous fighters and they don’t want to know but hopefully we can make those fights happen.”
