Former Crumlin BC fighter Conor McGregor was in action in the UFC at the weekend. The Dublin mixed martial artist gained revenge over Nate Diaz in the headline bout of UFC202 at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas.

Following his exciting five-round majority decision victory, McGregor screamed “surprise, surprise, motherf*cker, the king is back.

However, The Notorious was not the only Crumlin fight man to be crowned king, as Andy O’Neill won the title of ‘Red Head King of Ireland’ at the Irish Redhead Convention in Crosshaven, Cork, on Sunday.

Irish boxing fans may know O’Neill, a former amateur club mate of McGregor, as one of boxing’s most well-travelled cutmen. The flame-haired fixer has been found on all manner of big cards over the past few years including the likes of Mayweather-Pacquiao and Frampton-Quigg.

The hugely-popular O’Neill is planning a charity night at Crumlin BC for the Irish Cancer Society, and wants McGregor to get on board, challenging him to a ‘shave-off’

O’Neill, Sutcliffe, and all the gang at Crumlin BC also got together for a call-out video.
