Flanagan: I am bigger, stronger, more skillful I will take Ormond apart

IT will be a case of make war not love for Terry Flanagan as he says he will take Stephen Ormond apart in a fight that won’t be for the faint hearted on Valentines Day.

The undefeated Manchester fighter challenges for the Dublin favourite’s WBO European lightweight title in Wolverhampton on Valentines day and heads into the clash in confident mood.

Ormond is by far the best fighter Flanagan has agreed to face, his best win outside of Prizefighter victories was victory over Martin Gethin, yet ‘The Rock’s’ Frank Warren Promotions stable mate claims he trumps the Irish fighter in every department.

‘Turbo’, a 25 year southpaw, is adamant he will have too much in both the size and skill department for the 31 year old Celtic Warrior Gym fighter.

Flanagan said, “This fight won’t be for the faint hearted, I am going all out to take Ormond apart, There’ll be no love hearts in my eyes when I’m facing him, just targets set on his chin.”

“He says he’ll have too much for me in every department, but I believe that I’m the bigger, stronger, better and more skilful fighter and it will show on the night,”

“There will be pressure on me even though it’s not in my home city of Manchester, he’s coming over from Ireland so I’m going to make sure I’m the winner on home soil,”

Ormond is a let his fist do the talking kind of fighter, some would even argue he is too respectful pre fight, but Flanagan has managed to pick motivation from something that has come out of the Rock’s mouth.

“I’m undefeated and I’ll never shy away from a challenge, I love the challenge and someone like Ormond who comes in saying he’s going to beat me makes me train and fight harder,”
