First fighters confirmed for Ireland’s Last Man Standing card

The first three fighters have been confirmed for the massive Ireland’s Last Man Standing card next year.

Red Corner Promotions and Assassin Boxing will put on an eight-man, one-night elimination tournament at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday March 3rd in what isone of the most intriguing and anticipated events of recent times for Irish boxing.

However, the card – which looks likely to be televised – is not solely about the middleweight tournament, and a host of fighters will feature on the undercard, the first three of whom have been confirmed.

BUI Celtic light middleweight champion Craig O’Brien [7(0)-0], as planned, looks set to defend his belt on the big bill following a breakthrough 2017.

Cork super middleweight Vladimir Belujsky [1(1)-0-1] is another potential Last Man Standing entrant who will instead feature on the undercard. The Bratislava-born fighter is hoping to kick on in 2018 and is aiming for both Irish and Slovakian titles.

Dublin lightweight Victor Rabei [3(0)-0] will also feature. The polished Rathmines fighter racked up three wins in his debut year and will be looking to progress quickly,

Opponents for the trio will be announced in due course.

The Last Man Standing competitors themselves will be revealed at a press conference in Dublin on January 10th. Numerous fighters have already expressed their interest and submitted applications – the closing date for which is New Year’s Eve.
