Fearless Feargal McCrory Ends Three Year Ring Absence with Victory
Feargal McCrory tasted professional victory for the first time over three last night.
The Tyrone fighter defeated Texan Cesar Afredo Cantu over six rounds at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple, located at 317 Clermont Ave. in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
‘Fearless’ didn’t have things all his own way against the American and was made to work for a 57-56, 58-55. 58-55 victory.
The fight and the win were the 30-year-old’s first since he defeated Elvis Guillen in the Europa Hotel via first-round stoppage in May of 2019 – and just his second since he defeated Karl Kelly to win the Irish lightweight title in February of the same year.
McCrory will be hopeful the win puts to an end a nightmarish three years in terms of boxing and that he will now get busy stateside.
The win sees McCrory move to 12-0 his opponent’s record now reads 3-5-1.
